Mission

Our mission is to accelerate research excellence and societal impact by:
Advocating for the research infrastructure workforce, reflected in national policy and systems with embedded changes, where reward and recognition of contributions translate to equitable and clear career paths.

Upskilling and developing the research infrastructure workforce through dedicated training and education, including pathways for formal accreditation, aligned with national priorities

Proactively providing opportunities for the research infrastructure community to network and collaborate, including conferences, workshops, and forums.

Facilitating effective and efficient knowledge transfer through coordination of resources and information for the research infrastructure community.

Vision

To be the principal voice of the research infrastructure workforce in Australia and the region.

Strategy

1. Drive Cultural Change within the Sector for Commensurate Reward and Recognition of the Research Infrastructure Workforce

1.1. Contribute to and engage with relevant national initiatives and bodies.

1.2. Engage with host institutions to increase understanding of the role of the research infrastructure workforce embedded within institutions.

1.3. Connect with international peer groups.

1.4. Sponsor relevant projects: original research or case studies or consultancies.

1.5. Communication and engagement campaign; publish and disseminate through multiple channels and modalities. 

1.6. Establish esteem with program of meritorious ACRI Fellows.


2. Upskilling of the Research Infrastructure Workforce

2.1. Enable opportunities for peer-to-peer learning and cross-development via conferences, staff exchange programs, for example.

2.2. Upskill the workforce in management and other relevant ‘soft skills’.

2.3. Offer formal credentialed learning.


3. Ongoing Sustainability of ACRI Ltd

3.1. Establish enabling systems, including formation of Working Groups in delivering key strategic initiatives.

3.2. Secure memberships through proactive campaigning. 

3.3. Secure corporate memberships and partnerships.

3.4. Secure Commonwealth and State investment. 


4. Effective and Efficient Knowledge Transfer

4.1. Lead and facilitate networking opportunities.

4.2. Share useful information to aid in discoverability and benchmarking.

4.3. Develop and support best practices to enable research excellence (quality, reproducibility) and translation.
